Greetings! I’m Nicki: professional musician, part-time pain in the ass, speaker of unsugar-coated truths, humor-forcer-on-er, eyebrow raiser, and one tough cookie. After some turbulent years that followed my divorce in 2007 ––becoming a full-time undergrad at age 35, going through multiple abdominal surgeries that nearly killed me… twice, dating at 40, and a myriad of stunningly poor choices––Good Girl Bad was born. In the simplest terms, Good Girl Bad is an honest, unfiltered look at life through the experiences of my own crazy life; the things that happen to us and because of us, and how to courageously accept all of it. We all struggle. It’s how we handle these trials that determine how we come through them.
Through the past 30 years as an accompanist, I have learned much about musicians and people in general. Working in such intimate settings, and as someone who “supports” the featured performer, it became apparent to me that my true talents lie not as a pianist, but as a motivator and mentor. Think of me as a little guide sitting on your shoulder, whispering in your ear either pushing you to meet your destiny or smacking you with a dose of reality when you’ve wandered off your path.
Good Girl Bad is my ridiculous life on display to the world, and that, my friends, is terrifying and hilarious to me. If Good Girl Bad can be the break in the fog, bring relief in knowing you’re “not the only one who thinks this way,” or gives one woman the courage to pull up the big girl panties and just get on with it, then this will have been a success.
In the meantime, cheers!
